More about AMSA-DC

Map compilation, a process through which aerial photography is transformed in to maps, has reached a crossroad. The map compilation industry is at a juncture where the digital processes are beginning to surpass the optical/mechanical processes of analog and analytical stereoplotters. It is a logical evolution, considering the advances in personal computer hardware and software technology.

AMSATEK is fast becoming a leader in the new generation of desktop digital map compilation systems. The "brain" behind the system is AMSA-DC, one of the most powerful modules in the AMSA line of software. As such it is fully compatible with and works seamlessly in the AMSA environment. With our CONNEX data conversion software, AMSA-DC can generate a final product that is fully compatible with other major mapping software, including Microstation® .DGN® and AutoCAD® .DWG®

AMSA-DC utilizes the AMSA's advanced image processing technology, which allows a stereo model pair to be displayed on your monitor. With CrystalEyes® LCD electronically shuttered eye wear, users are able to view stereo images and perform a variety of mapping tasks of photogrammetric restitution, stereo superimposition, and DEM image processing.

In addition to the stereo-viewing eyewear, which is required, the AMSA-DC module has optional hand wheels for x and y input, a foot disk for elevation, or 3D controller device. A, a Pentium® with a minimum of 256MB of RAM, and AMSA mapping software completes this digital analytical system. Other hardware upgrades, such as a larger Pentium® microprocessor, high performance graphic adapter, and additional RAM, are recommended for improving overall performance. Meeting the above hardware and software requirements, the AMSA-DC system can handle digital images with a scan resolution of 15 to 20 microns with ease. Viewing controls such as dynamic panning and zooming allow users fast image manipulation.
