AMSA-Digital Orthophoto

Scan and Convert to Digital Orthophoto

Using AMSA's new generation of digital image processing technology, AMSA Digital Orthophoto has become one of the most powerful tools for every mapping task, from base mapping to Geographic Information System (GIS). Together with AMSA98 and AMSA Digital Compiler, AMSA Digital Orthophoto completes one of the most powerful softcopy photogrammetric restitution systems on today's market.

With this fully digital environment—no optical or mechanical sub-systems are present—AMSA Digital Orthophoto can outperform many conventional photogrammetric systems by utilizing the latest AMSA software and PC hardware technology; moreover, it is far more cost-effective than the conventional analog and optical equipment.

This is How It Works

The digital orthophoto is created by scanning an aerial photograph diapositive transparency with an image scanner. Since the accuracy of the digital image is directly related to the scan resolution, a higher precision image scanner produces more accurate image.

Using AMSA Digital Orthophoto module, the scanned data file is then digitally rectified to an orthographic projection by processing each image pixel. This process requires, as input, ground control points developed in aerotriangulation, camera orientation parameters, and a Digital Elevelation Model (DEM).

Fully Compatible with Other Graphic Data Structures

The AMSA98 system not only works in its own productive, fully contained environment, it has a variety of modules that will also put the user in touch with other graphic data structures, such as a direct interface to AutoCAD® .DWG, Intergraph MicroStation® .DGN file formats.
